Oh crap, I forgot to post until just now. I mean how do you forget to post to your blog during NaBloPoMo? I was all getting ready for bed and thinking, "It feels like I'm forgetting something . . ." and sure enough I was.
So for my late breaking post, here's photos of my recently purchased quinoa. I love that it says, "Soul food of the Andes" because when I read that I hear the "SOOOOOOOOOUL TRAAAAAIN" opening in my head. I also love that it says "BOLIVIA" in a stencil font. Very official looking. Continue Reading...
So, today I actually left the house. I know, I was pretty excited about it too. A friend of mine, Lu, called yesterday and wanted to go shopping and then to lunch. Now, for most people this would not be that big of a deal, but lately I am seriously worried that I am becoming agoraphobic. I was thinking that I have not been out of the house for about three weeks, then I remembered I did go babysit my nieces. But besides that excursion I have not been anywhere.
I agreed to go, but I was having these second thoughts about it all night. Then today, seriously, I was having a mild panic attack about going. It's so strange. I know it's not rational, but then I guess phobias really aren't rational - hence them being phobias and all. So anyway I talked myself out of the panic attack and ended up going. Continue Reading...
Get ready for the most fascinating five or ten minutes of your life (depends on how quickly you can read). I would love to read your 100 things list. Leave me a link and I'll be there! I started writing this list quite awhile back - then I forgot about it. I found it the other day and decided to finish it. Whew, I can finally check that off the list!
I was planning to write a really spectacular post today to make up for the lame ones that I've been putting up lately, but then I was like, "Eh, let's not get crazy about this." I like to set your expectations pretty low, so that if something spectacular happens you're truly WOWed.
Instead of writing, I'm just going to post some photos of my nieces. They are spectacular, actually, so hey, what am I worried about?
Here they are, just a regular night at home. Sippin' on apple juice, got their colors on their mind and their mind on their colors . . . Continue Reading...
So I've been trying to be more greatful for things - trying to focus on the positive side of life, trying to see the glass half-full, you know.
I don't know if you've heard of The Law of Vibration (or if you believe it). If you don't know what it is, here's a simple explanation of it, Continue Reading...
Maybe you already know about this illustrator/designer, but I have to tell you again because I am in LOVE with her stuff. You don't even know. If I knew where she lived, I would be over at her house all the time wanting to watch her work. And she'd get really annoyed with me always hanging out and breathing over her shoulder and just worshiping her and stuff. Maybe she'd have to call the cops because she has an art stalker. I would try to placate her with cupcakes and when the cops were hauling me away I would yell, "I thought what we had was special!" because I couldn't think of any witty "Mad Men" quotes off the top of my head.
When I was little I had an imaginary friend. He looked kind of like the Michelin Man, except he was a bit more square shaped. He was also pink. And he was made of bubble gum.
Remember that episode of The Simpsons when Homer gives up beer, and he goes to a baseball game and he's the only one not drinking and he says that without beer "I never realized how boring this game is."
