Here is a down-loadable Advent Calendar for you! I've made one with a list of activities, and also a blank one so you don't like the activities I've chosen, you can fill it up with activities that your family enjoys.
To construct the calendar, all you need to do is print both pages of the calendar onto card stock. Take an x-acto knife and cut each numbered box on THREE sides to make a little "door." Then glue the page with the activities onto the back of the numbered "doors" so that when you open a numbered door you can read the activity on the second page.

Have fun counting down to Christmas!

I've looked around and I couldn't really find a Thanksgiving Planner that suited my needs - so I made one. I'm posting it here to share with you in case you could use one too! I created this assuming that you will be doing all the work yourself - but if you're having a pot luck style Thanksgiving, you could keep track of who is bringing what dishes on the "notes and ideas" page - just make an extra copy. I also thought that if you found pictures in magazines or online of centerpieces, or place settings, etc., you could tape them to the notes page for your reference. There are so many nice ideas out there it's hard to decide which ones to use!

Just click on the image to download a pdf of the planner. I hope it helps make your Thanksgiving a little less stressful!

Do you have guests arrive at your party who think they're TOO COOL to dress up? You know the ones, so insecure! Well, I have the solution for you - keep a stash of these masks near the door so you can whip one out and and force your troublesome guest to get into the SPIRIT! Simply download, cut out (don't forget to punch out some eye holes - breathing holes are optional - make a couple small holes for a string to be knotted through, at VOILA - instant costume! I made a few from vintage images, and the really cool ones came from Ron and Joe - a super awesome stock images and custom illustrations site. Click on the pumpkin to download a pdf of ALL the masks. (Don't forget it may take a few minutes to load!)

What Halloween would be complete without a black cat or two? One of my favorite black cats is Salem Saberhagen - the wise-cracking cat from Sabrina the Teenaged Witch.

So, we survived Saturday. It was, as I expected, jam packed with other shoppers. Gabby and her friend went to the movies and then to the zoo on Saturday. She tells me that no one was at the zoo, (because they were all at Sam's Club open house sample tasting EXTRAVAGANZA). Next year I'm going to the zoo. [More]

I made these treat bag labels for my nieces and nephews and I thought you might like to use them to make some treat bags of your own.
Just click to download the free treat bag labels, print them out, (I recommend using cardstock, but paper will be fine, too) cut them out, fold and staple or tape onto plastic baggies or brown paper sacks filled with candy or other treat.
Your trick or treaters will appreciate that personal touch!

Today is a grey and blustery day where I live. The winds have been howling and the trees are quivering in fear. Leaves are whirling and skittering madly - it feels like Halloween is nearing! Today, I am posting a dancing skeleton halloween decoration that came out of a 1970 children's magazine (Jack and Jill). If you click on each of the images you can download a pdf of each page. As the instructions say, print them out on cardstock, punch holes where indicated and attach all the body parts with brass brads or tabs so that the joints move and you can position your skeleton any way you like! While you are doing this you must sing,
"Dem bones, Dem bones, Dem dry bones!
Dem skeleton bones gonna walk around! [More]

To reward my faithful readers (Hi Sandra!) for putting up with my erratic posting, I'm posting some Halloween Invitations that I designed. You should be able to click on them and download them as PDFs. Once opened you can click on the text and fill out the invitation with your own information. Please be patient they might take a few minutes to download.
After you've filled out all the important information, send them to your printer and print on cardstock. The invitations are 4" x 6" and would fit into a standard invitation size envelope, or better yet, just address the back and mail them as postcards - save some paper! (double check your postage costs for this size postcard) Even better, save yourself some postage and hand deliver them!
