The day was gorgeous - the light was beautiful and we found some really lovely places to photograph. I can't show you the final photos but I'll give you some hints . . .

One of the first places we photographed at was this beautiful stone bridge. The light was filtered by the trees just perfectly. It was so peaceful here.

We had to crawl down these scary little limestone steps - charming but deadly - luckily, no fat ladies were harmed in the making of these photos (that would be me in case you were wondering).

This tree was HUGE I didn't get a good photo of the size of it. I did get a shot of the fungus that was growing on it. We also found cute little racoon paw prints everywhere . . . but no racoons showed up for the photo shoot. Awwww...

There were also no trolls living under the bridge - thankfully - since I've probably mentioned how much THAT story scared me as a child.

After the Bridge we took some photos here . . .

This creepy"Blair Witch"Face was carved on one of the walls . . . we didn't stay too long.

Next, we shot some photos here

Then we went to another bridge - this one we stayed on top of.

Lastly, as the light was fading, we took some photos here . . .

I wish I could show them to you now, but they need some editing. Okay, okay I'll give you another little hint. They involve a fairy princess named Gabriella but that's all I can say for now!

Tincture!

I dunno, it's supposed to be good for you . . .

This is the creation of this hot concoction

Straining the mixture through cheesecloth . . . I would recommend rubber gloves unless you're a crazy Bolivian mad scientist.

I thought she would take them home and  plant them. No, her and her dad planted them in his backyard - which adjoins our backyard .  In their little patch we also threw in some regular pumpkin seeds, cantaloupe and watermelon seeds. The vines went absolutely crazy! Next year, I think we should be a little more organized about it, but we did manage to grow one giant pumpkin. When we finally picked it we discovered that it weighs 70 lbs! (I kept telling him to lift with his legs, but you know how brothers are!)

It's almost big enough for my niece to crawl into! Here are her and her dad showing off their pumpkins.

The photos don't show the color very well, but it's really pretty. She hadn't planned to get it cut so short, but the woman cut it while it was wet and I guess didn't realize that curly hair shortens up when it's dry. When she came home from the appointment she was afraid to tell me how short it was, but it's cute. And so is she!

Here, she is telling me to quit taking her photo!
