We used to make this candy for Christmas when I was a kid. When we made it, we also dipped toothpicks in the cinnamon oil to make cinnamon toothpicks. I love those things.

This recipe comes from a sweet old lady - I know TONS of sweet old ladies, ok. I worked with her son and he was selling her homemade recipe books at work one day. I bought one because you know that all the good recipes are going to come from little old ladies who have been cooking forever. This one says it's an apple crisp, but it's really more of a crumble. I'm not getting picky but I make my crisps with rolled oats so there IS a difference.
