It’s getting to be the season for curling up on a chilly night with a big bowl of carmel popcorn and watching some good movies! This is my mom’s recipe and it’s always been a family favorite. You can add peanuts to this recipe if you like.
Pop 2 gallons of popcorn
- Mix 1/2 cup of White Corn Syrup with
- 2 cups Brown Sugar and
- 2 sticks of butter
- Add 1 Teaspoon Burnt Sugar Flavoring (from the baking aisle at the grocery store)
- and 1 Teaspoon Butter Flavoring
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
Bring this to a boil and boil for 5 minutes
Take off the stove and add 1 teaspoon Baking soda
Stir and then pour over popcorn and mix all together.
Spread the popcorn out onto baking sheets and bake for 1 hour at 200° F, turning it over every 10 minutes.
