Caramel & Candy Apples

I LOVE caramel and candy  apples. I know they aren’t everyone’s favorite treat on a stick, but if you’re looking to make a few for yourself or for a group of friends, I’ve pulled together a round up of some fun recipes and ideas for you!

First, let’s start with the classic caramel apple recipe. These just take me back to my childhood and standing on a chair while stirring the caramels until they melted and then having to have my dad help me dip the apples into the gooey mix, and then just about bursting with excitement while waiting for them to harden up enough to eat!  Just click on the image to head over and get the recipe, or you can always just buy those kits at the grocery store if you’re in a hurry! I’m thinking I’m going to have to make some of these tonight . . .

If you love the caramel apple taste, but biting into an apple seems like a risky option (just ask Snow White about that) you can always make this Caramel Apple Salad – I’ve made it for picnics and other get togethers and it’s always GONE before I leave, so try it for your Halloween Party – it’s sure to be a hit! (plus it can help you get rid of any left over chocolate bars, if that’s actually a thing).

If you want to try something a little more challenging and dramatic, how about these options? (all images are linked to recipes)

Some wonderful bloody candy apples

Beautiful Poison Apples

Black Hearted Apples

black apples

Passionate Purple Apples (or other fun colors)

or just plain ol’ delicious candy apples

Maybe you can dress them up . . .

And if you don’t want an apple at all, here’s a recipe for Chocolate Covered Caramel Popcorn Balls!

or heck, just fake it with some Caramel Apple Cake Pops!!!

Whichever way you decide to make them, have fun!
